Perfect adhesion

with the ENVIROX PREANO process

How will the ENVIROX PREANO process help me?

Pre-anodisation is generally regarded as the best corrosion protection process prior to powder coating of aluminium and is therefore very popular under particularly critical environmental conditions, such as in coastal areas and in swimming pool construction. For this purpose, a few µm thick, open-pored oxide layer is produced which is then painted without being sealed. Qualicoat requires a wet adhesion test to check the paint adhesion, which is concluded with a cross cut. If this results in poor paint adhesion, troubleshooting begins: Was it an inadequate rinsing technique, a poorly formed oxide layer or perhaps an error in the application of the paint? These problems can be avoided if the ENVIROX PREANO process is then used for a brief post-treatment to improve paint adhesion. The procedure has an approval granted by Qualicoat (approval number: AP-019)

Advantages:

Simple application as no-rinse procedure

Chrome-free on the basis of approved, chrome-free systems Alficoat 748 resp. Alficoat 748/3

Can be used both for chromium-free pretreatment and after pre-anodisation

One product for two applications

Improves the adhesion of powder coatings to pre-anodised aluminium surfaces

Optimises pore flushing and also contributes to improving corrosion protection

Process sequence for the ENVIROX PREANO process prior to coating

This process enables improved paint adhesion on pre-anodised and chrome-free after-treated surfaces even at low rinse bath temperatures and the usual contact times.

Following the ENVIROX PREANO treatment, no further rinsing steps are necessary, but optional.
